Processing time for an IR2

We submitted the I-130 in July 2014, paid our final processing fee early June but are still waiting for a case complete/interview date. After 14 months, I am wondering how much longer this is likely to take? My son is already late to start his university course here in the US and is very frustrated.

Wonder if there are other people on here that are also applying for a visa under an IR2 and how long they have waited?

Have you called the NVC for a status?

I wish we could talk to someone!! When I applied for my visa, we could call and speak with someone at the NVC, now it is just a recorded message on the number we were given on their letter : 603 334 0700, it does not matter what time you call, they just leave this message on Have been apart from my son since moving here in 2011 and it is breaking my heart :(

We're in the same situation as you are. We applied in August 2014 and still nothing. On September 2 we called and were told the case is with a case supervisor and yesterday again they said it was still there. I can't understand why it's been there so long.

Thanks for your reply, really nice to know we are not alone in this frustrating process. Which number do you call to speak to NVC? We just get an answer machine on 603 334 0700.

That's the same number we use. You just have to try and try until you get through although it's so frustrating.

That is really good to know - we had given up trying to get through to someone. Working on trying to call them today, is there a particular time you have managed to get through to them?

Well we persisted on the phone last night and finally got through to someone, found out they were 'missing' his birth certificate and that was the hold up. They were also waiting for us to complete the DS-260. Very thankful for your advice, we had assumed (feeling stupid now) that the NVC were simply not taking calls as each time we called we got the recorded message - the message in itself should be a little clearer IMHO.

Anyway, looks like we are now making progress Woke up happy

I am an IR2 our PD is july 2,2014. We had a delay but it was our fault for not sending documents right away as the nvc instructed. Nonethless after we submitted the docs last june, got my case complete on aug 26? And i will be having my interview on sept. 23
