Hi!

I'm a TN visa holder and I've been kicking around this site for a few years while my divorce and custody issues were being dealt with. Finally divorced  , have custody of both of my sons :bonk: and live in Milwaukee with my new wife :content: . My question... Has anyone one else out there in VJ land had a TN visa, got married and adjusted status? I'd like to hear from you through a reply or through a message to find out about your experiences and/or problems.:(

Thanks! Capt.Canuck

(Ron)

Yep that would be me. Was on TN status for I think about 7 years before I finally met my wifies and then got married here. Did the whole process which is pretty much the same as any K visa person when they file their AOS. The only thing different from a TN Status compared to a K Visa holder (sorry can't remember if K-1 or K-2 or K-3 is the finance one) is that on a TN you just need to time it just right so that when you apply for your AOS that you have a substantial time left on your TN in case the EAD gets held up for one reason or another.

I was lucky I got my new TN in the mail in June I think, got married at the end of July and sent out the AOS in Aug and got my EAD (and AP) in early Sept. If something had gotten delayed, I would have still been fine as my TN Status was still valid up till June of the following year.

So that's the only real difference compared to the K-Finance visa. Oh and other then the fact you probably don't need to relocate, set up your entire life, get credit history, get a bank account, etc...

I'm just a wanderer in the desert winds...
