NEED HELP!!!!

My joint sponsor just called me today and said that he cannot send his updated tax returns for the year 2014 since he has a further extension on his tax returns because of some reasons and is asking me if his son can sponsor me? Of all the #$#$#Q$$ things that could go wrong! :@

His son makes a healthy amount almost 100K so what do i do now? do i call the NVC? Do i call the embassy? Or do i just show up with the new i-864 and tax returns at the interview?

Interview is on the 21st of September

Please help me guys! Freaking out right about now!

Wait. Why would you need a new joint sponsor? All that has happened is that he's received an extension on his tax return. If you've already received an interview letter then NVC must've deemed that the joint sponsor earns enough to sponsor. I'm sure you've included pay stubs and etc as proof. If he's received a new extension letter, take to the interview as proof that your sponsor doesn't need to file 2014 taxes just yet.

You've already received an interview date so nothing to happen at NVC anymore.

At that point, it's up to the embassy if they want a new joint sponsor or the one you've submitted is enough. I guess if you'd like to avoid having to return to the embassy with more documents if a new joint sponsor is requested and to be prepared just in case, you could always have the son complete the I-864 and etc and bring it to the interview. If they say they won't accept the current joint sponsor, just provide all documents for the new one.

Well, therein lies the problem!

My joint sponsor is self employed :/ I submitted a tax extension to the NVC along with all his business licenses and whatnot. The problem is that the interview letter states i have to bring the tax returns for 2014 tax year :S

So my joint sponsor has no W-2s no Pay stubs or anything else.

Ahh, I see the issue here.

What you can do then is bring the new joint sponsor's I-864 with supporting documentation to the interview and since the interview letter asks for the 2014 tax returns for the current joint sponsor, bring a letter from your current joint sponsor saying that he withdraws his sponsorship. At that point, provide the new sponsors documents. The IO will look over the documents and make sure that they earn enough to sponsor and you should be issued a visa if everything looks good. At this point, just makes sure the new joint sponsor's forms and supporting documents are complete and properly put together because you wouldn't want them to refuse your visa for minor errors on the form.

I guess since your interview is before October, you could use the old form. You should be able to put in the Apartment number if you're using Adobe Reader. When you check off Apt/Suite, the field opens up for you to enter the number.
