I think I've seen this asked for every country except Canada, but the general consensus is no. The US has access to any US records, you have to get a police cert from other countries because the US doesn't have access to any records other than the US.

Ok that's what I thought. Thanks!

I can confirm its not needed. I lived in the U.S. with a student visa for one year. After I handed over my Canadian police check at the interview the lady asked if I had ever lived in any other countries. I said for one year in the U.S. as a student and she said that was fine and did not require a police check.

Perfect, thank you very much. I am trying to be prepared for my interview. I have it in 3 weeks.

Did you get your Canadian Police check from your local police office? Or did you order it from RCMP. My search says it searched the RCMP database.

I got mine from my local police station. I don't recall the exact explanation but apparently it is done through RCMP, so any local police station will give you a Canada wide police check.

Ok great thanks!
