So, my fiancée and I are starting this process and have a possible issue. She has 8 legal names, and would like to keep them, and add my last name once we are married. Does anyone have any experience with keeping many names as culturally this is much different than the USA and forms don't necessarily inherently have room built in.

Thanks!

She can do it, but she will probably feel frustrated with how it is handled in the US. My husband has 2 legal last names, as is the norm for Mexico. I took his last name through marriage, so I now also have 2 lasts names in one. Most people here do not understand it and constantly get it wrong, using only the 2nd last name because they only think of last names a single one, the one that comes very last at the end of a name. We just continue to use the first of the 2 last names, as is also the norm in MX, on things that do not require all the legality of using both, and ignore it when people write or call us by only the last of the 2 when we tell them our name or they see our names on paper.
