Hello,

If I pass the exam while on K1, can I renew TN driver license without any problem once I get my EAD?

According to the manual, I can renew my DL within 5 years without having to repeat the exam. However while I was taking knowledge test, the man at the driving license station told me that I can renew it only within 1 month after it expires (if not I need to take the exam again). The next day I called that station again and some other lady told me I have 5 years to do that. I'm totally confused now. Is it somewhat different to immigrants?

I already passed the knowledge exam and got my permit valid for a year. However once I pass my road skill, the actual DL will be valid only til the end of my K1. So hence the question, will I be able to renew it with my EAD without taking the exam again? Or should I wait with road exam til I have EAD?

Anyone got any experience with it?
