Hi everyone;

I'm new to the forum, though it has been very helpful in the past few months as I my fiance and I navigate through the process.

I have a couple of questions regarding the K-1 visa. At this stage, my visa interview is in London in the next month, I have had my medical. I recieved packet 4 a few weeks back, and it contained only the date of my interview, directions to the embassy, and what to expect when I get there. My first question is should there have been anything else in packet 4? FOr example DS -230, part II, or do I fill that in on the day of the interview.

Second question. My fiance in the US is sponsoring me and has sent all the relative details over. I am also offering personal funds in my support. Is there a form to fill out detailing these funds, or should I follow packet 3 instructions literally, and simply present statements from my banks. (my suppport is from personal saving.) I have heard form I-864 banded around, and wondered if that was relevant to my situation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thankyou.x

Packet 4 is only your interview notice. There should have been directions in Packet 3 on what to do with DS-230.

I-864 is for AOS so it is not relevant to your current situation. Write a letter stating you'd like to offer your personal funds in addition to your fiance's I-134. Present bank statements, and include in the letter a statement as to how you will be transferring those funds to the US.

Goodluck!

You need to fill out the forms asked for in packet 3 and should have sent them to the Embassy with your checklist. The forms are online, sorry I don't know the link but am sure someone here will be able to help with that.

If you send the forms separately to the checklist put your reference number on them and take copies on the day of interview to be safe.

On the matter of sponsorship, take everything your fiance sent to and copies of same. I got a letter from my bank showing a 5 figure balance in my current account as well as the average balance over the last 12 months. The Embassy took that when they took my fiance's financial stuff. I also had a few bank statements but wasn't asked for them.

Good Luck
