Ummm

So, I didn't fill out any forms when I left Canada (tax forms) and I think my parents are actually filing the taxes for me with $0 income for 2006...Now, we already did the taxes here...I'm pretty sure that the box "final return" was not checked...Is that absolutely necessary? Am I gonna run into problems? :help:

Uhh I will not lose the CAD citizenship, right?

November 23, 2005: cheque cashed

December 7, 2005: waiting waiting waiting...

December 14, 2005: sent I-129 petition

December 23, 2005: cheque cashed for I-129

December 28, 2005: NOA1

January 9, 2006: waiting waiting waiting!!!

February 6, 2006: RFE

February 15, 2006: RFE sent

February 23, 2006: I-129F APPROVED YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

March 21, 2006: Montreal sent Packet 3

March 30, 2006: I-130 APPROVED...WOW, REALLY?

April 1, 2006: Received Packet 3 (almost thought it was an April Fools joke :)

April 3 or 4, 2006: Packet 3 sent to Montreal

April 24, 2006 - Montreal receives the checklist (they better after 20 days!!!)

INTERVIEW JULY 27, 2006!!!

June 6, 2006 - Packet 4 received

July 27, 2006 - APPROVED!

July 29, 2006 - on the way home!

September, 2006 - I-130 case complete

January 10, 2007 - I-130 INTERVIEW!

APPROVED!!!!!!!

January 11, 2007 - Picked up passport with visa!

January 12, 2007 - I'm home

I-130 Process took 1 year, 2 months and 8 days

Actually it is much worse than that!! You will loose the right to have Tim Hortons and they may force you to be a Maple Leafs fan!! Total hell I tell ya!! No you will not loose your citizenship!!! I would just call up Revenue Canada,they are very helpful http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/menu-e.html. Best of luck

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

They are open in some States, but doesnt quite taste the same. Canada uses 18% cream,and the USA version uses 12% (or something less??)

ya know flames...........it is painfully evident that mephys has had way more than her share of Tim Hortons recently and therefor does not feel the overwhelming desire to obsess about it.........it may be necessary to flog her ..........or force her to parcel post you a care package of TH fine grind and frozen container of 18% :D

Not to shock you but hey, i hate Tim horton's coffee so I dont have the temptation when I pass in front of it, I wouldnt mind though bringing some to fellow VJers if any in the Chicago area when I move in April. :P

05/07/2007: Interview date - Canceled by request, [promised a Dec date b/c was 6+mo in advance, note on file

Screwed up my interview date, given NOVEMBER, fixed, promised Dec or Jan

06/02/2008: Interview date, medical now expired! APPROVED!

23/01/2008: New Medical done, WHERE THE @#$%! IS IT, DID THE MAILMAN LOSE IT?! (It arrived 30 min after I left for MTL, 1 week overdue. KISS MY LEFT FOOT, AFTER IT'S BEEN WEDGED UP YOUR HINEY AND LOST IT'S STILETTO, CANADA POST!)

14/02/2008: VISA IN HAND!!

18/05/2008: POE - Harassed by ignorant and incompetent Customs Official who grilled me until I answered that the reason why I broke up w/ my Ex was not to date my USC but b/c he was "impotent from a porn addiction". He also insulted my husband's motives for talking to me, dismissed our 2 years together as "not enough to get married", and otherwise trotted out the Spanish Inquisition.

22/05/2008: Ceremony of cohabitation (Legally allowed to get bizz-ay!)

AOS/AP/EAD

02/07/2008: Filed for AOS/AP/EAD

14/07/2008: Received NOA1

09/09/2008: Transferred to CSC

29/09/2008: EAD arrives in mail w/out notice, AP following week

18/11/2008: Email notice letter has gone out, card ETA: 60 days

25/11/2008: GC arrives in mail! TWO YEARS OF RED-TAPE FREEDOM! WOOT!
