Three armed gunmen attacked a car with undocumented immigrants and kidnapped the driver, the fourth similar type of violent attack in a month.

The attacks have inched closer to the Valley, with today's being the closest: Chandler.

Police say they have little information on the overnight attack. The kidnapped man, José Guzmán, is in his early 20s and from Mexico.

Guzmán, the driver of a red car with five passengers, pulled off westbound Interstate 10 early Wednesday to get gas somewhere near Maricopa when two pickup trucks began to follow them, Chandler police said.

Guzmán continued from I-10 to the eastbound Santan Freeway in Chandler and the trucks followed, forcing the vehicle onto the shoulder of the road shortly after they entered the Santan.

Occupants of the trucks opened fire with handguns and at least one round hit the car, police said.

Police believe the attackers forced Guzmán into one of the trucks. Another attempted to kidnap the other passengers by stealing the red car but was unsuccessful and fled. The other victims were unharmed.

Criminality breeds criminality. Illegal activity breeds illegal activity. They use criminal smugglers to enter illegally. They use criminal organizations to obtain counterfeit documents to work and pass themselves off as legal. Corrupt employers take dubious papers to put them to work knowing the Social Security numbers don't match.

What do you expect? It is corruption and criminality from beginning to end. This doesn't surprise me. Why should it surprise you?

This is the type of ####### we have allowed into our communities along with the illegal aliens, narcotics, and criminal gangs that are spilling over into our country from Mexico.

Build a fence, post armed US military troops on the border, and send / keep this ####### back across the border where it belongs.

how did the people following them *know* that the people in the car were illegals? Did they have a conversation with them first? Did they ask? Had they been following them for a few days, weeks or months?

Often criminal smugglers kidnap illegal aliens from other smugglers and hold them for ransom. Often criminal organizations victimize illegal aliens knowing they won't go to the police.

In other words...a lot of this is Hispanic on Hispanic crime.

Why do you assume it is always whites victimizing these illegal aliens? Most of the time it is their own people.

While I in NO WAY agree with violence against anyone it isn't supprising. The illegal alien thing has gotten out of hand and some are taking matters into their own hands. Until the pinheads in Washington take serious action to stop the flood of illegals things like this are only going to increase. I wish they would build a huge fence along the entire border and man it with enough guards to stop this madness. They should at the same time arrest anyone employing an illegal. This has to stop!!!

Yes very good idea. So arrest them and fine them. This way they get a record, are embarrassed in front of their workers and pay a fine which far outweighs the money saved for hiring an illegal immigrant.. $10K initial fine, which doubles per offense..

It's not relegated simply to illegals. Mexico is notorious for ransom kidnapping.

Why do you assume that I assumed it was white people victimizing them? It may have been orientals, or blacks, or portuguese, or or or or...There was nothing in the article to state HOW the people just knew the Mexicans were illegal, and there was nothing in there about the race of the kidnappers. It was just my first impression that it was race related is all.
