Hi guys,

Rike&Brandon brought my attention to this issue. We had our interview yesterday, we were also given the 1-2 weeks time frame. I am going to copy the same answer I sent there so there is a little update on the progress:

We submitted our DS-160 on June 17th. I will say that we had a huge amount of problems with the packet 3 and the post strike, both receiving their letter (which we did not get as an email until I had emailed them 2 weeks after they should have received the case and explained that Chris had not received mail from the Deutsche Post for the prior 3 weeks) and the email. After the email I sent they scanned everything and send it as an email. I sent out the packet the following day and it took me emailing once a week for 3 weeks to be allowed to schedule the appointment. However, I just checked CEAC and it is showing as administrative processing, so that is at least moving forward.

The funny thing was that when I tried calling when we still didnt have packet 3 the recording said they were having issues printing visas with Ds-160s submitted on or AFTER June 8th....

At this point Im not even sure that they know whats going on.

The weirdest thing is the packet 3 coming via post during the strike rather than via email which most Germans have reported receiving. We didnt get that until I kept writing them over and over about it...

Email response times have been odd. I would recommend emailing both frankfurtvisainquiries@state.gov and FrankfurtIV@state.gov with duplicate messages even though they tell you not to. Sometimes one responds quickly while the other takes a week and vice versa, but by emailing both I have an answer withing 48 hours from one of them while I wait on the other response to compare notes...

Hope it helps give a bit more information about where things stand.
