Problems contacting Frankfurt embassy

I received a reply to my Thursday enquiry today which said that they have not yet received all the required documents and also contained a link to their online pdf telling me which documents are needed. I'm not sure what exactly that means, I sent in my documents in one bulk and I know that they arrived there thanks to online tracking. So if by any error of mine I forgot to include something in the envelope, which I don't think happened, then it would at least be helpful to have them tell me what the problem is and not link me with the document list once again. Some of the documents are obviously originals such as a letter by my fiancé's boss stating that he works there and ears this and that much, among other things so I really hope they are not lost in translation... I guess I am going to send another enquiry asking to specifically tell me what is missing :o

Did you make a copy of what you sent?

Then you can compare with the checklist.

(I don't think I made a copy, shame on me, but fortunately, everything was complete).

i agree, just a link to the PDF is not very helpful!

I did make a copy, fortunately. And according to that, I could not figure out which documents could be missing. As I understand the last message that I received from the embassy, the whole envelope with my documents has not been received by them, or at least is not somewhere in their department. However, thanks to Deutsche Post tracking I know that it has been delivered on July 3 and can also see who signed for it. I just sent them another message saying the envelope should be there and included the tracking number so they can check themselves. Maybe the envelope has been misplaced somehow within the embassy due to July 4 and any hiccups around that time. I kindly asked if there is any chance that they could find out where the envelope has gone...who would have thought that it is Frankfurt embassy who loses my documents after I made it through Texas Service Center and NVC safely!

Dear fellow K1 filers (and of course everyone else who might know a solution!),

first of all, I am so glad to have found this community and I very much appreciate the input I could find on here today!

Our K1 journey so far has been rather smooth, apart from the endless waiting at Texas Service Center, which seems to be the norm for almost everyone in this visa category, as I can see from the posts here. Unfortunately, we are having some issues now, which is why I am seeking other people's advice now.

I read that the procedures for scheduling an interview do vary from embassy to embassy, so this is how it works in Frankfurt: Once the embassy received your file they send you a letter (packet 3) in which they ask you to send them your supporting documents for the interview. Upon them reviewing these documents you will be able to schedule your interview date yourself via Traveldocs. I have received the respective letter and have also sent them my documents, which I know that they arrived there safely via online tracking. So far so good. According to the online tracking they should have received my documents on July 3 and I have not heard back from them since. I didn't know how long I should expect this process to take so last week Thursday I sent an online enquiry to the embassy's immigrant visa section, which is the only form of contact they seem to offer for this kind of matter, asking about the status of my application. I did not get any reply so far and sent another message yesterday, which has also not been replied to yet. So by now I am getting a little nervous as after all this waiting the only thing I want to do is scheduling an interview date to at least have an actual date to look forward to! Does anyone have any advice what I could do, is this a normal thing for this embassy?

Thank you so much for your input!

uhm couldn't it be that they still stuck somewhere ...POST STREIK?! ..that's why I SENT MINE just on monday and waited almost a month so the damn STREIK was over. ..Send them a e-mail ..that's what i did right now

So this is what I sent them:

- a copy of my DS-160 confirmation with attached passport picture

- a copy of my passport's biographic page

- birth certificate as original and copy

- policer certificate original and copy

- I-134 form with wet signature together with a letter of employment by finacé's boss stating how much he earns and that his contract is open end so to say, a statement of fiancé's bank stating account details, and his tax returns of 2014

Everything else that was on their list did not apply to me. Did I miss out on anything? First and foremost of course I hope they will find that envelope :o

Thank you for your input, guys! :)

I forgot to mention the residence history form and the interview request page in my above list. As for the other suggestions, I had attached a passport style picture to the DS-160 form so it wouldn't fall out. However, I have not included proof of paying the visa fee as I had understood that it is not necessary for k1 because you won't even get through to scheduling an interview online if you did not pay the fee, but I may be wrong here! I had also not included any pay stubs as my fiancé does not really receive any, he gets the same amount of money every two weeks. We thought that the employment letter which includes his annual income would suffice together with the tax returns.

The main problem still is that according to Deutsche Post online tracking I know my letter has been delivered while the embassy says they have not received it yet. So once I got that figured out and they can actually have a look at my documents I can keep you guys updated as to which things might be missing!

You also need 2 additional pics included in the package not just on the DS160. I think it is number 6 on the list. And in Germany, the visa application fee needs to be paid before and provded documentation. http://germany.usembassy.gov/application-fee/

Please Note: It can take several days to receive the payment confirmation, so please plan accordingly. Important for the visa interview: Please note that the Visa Deposit Slip from CGI Stanley must be printed out and submitted together with the document check list in order to get a visa interview appointment.

Are there different versions of the list online? The one I used is dated 06/2015 and says "One color photograph for each applicant is required" and for the fee it does not actually say anything just where and how to pay it and that you won't be able to schedule the interview without paying the fee. I'm getting confused by these different information, I did not research much on the actual embassy website because I thought the checklist would provide all the information. But thank you so much for showing me this website! I will send in the payslip as well tomorrow. It would help if they could just contact you and tell you which things exactly are missing so no one has to poke around in the dark.

The payment information for the K1 is really confusing. Initially I also thought I don't have to send it because it's not on the embassy document list - I only realized my mistake after I had sent all the other documents. I send an additional letter two days later and there was no problem.

Meanwhile I had my interview (last Thursday) and the visa was approved, but absolutely nothing has happened since, CEAC status is still on "ready for interview" and the passport is still with the embassy, this waiting is so frustrating...
