I had my interview today (in Stockholm) and was saddened to discover that the police report I obtained through Devon & Cornwall Police (which went to Scotland Yard for processing!) was not the one needed.

here is the link to the ACRO section for UK Police report for US Visa processing:

https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx

Luckily they offer a premium service with courier delivery overseas for anyone else thrown a curve ball by this!

I received my certificate via courier this morning, that's less than 48 hours after submitting the request via the online system - ok it was expensive, but time is more precious now so well worth it!

I still think they checked the same database as the previous certificate I had, but this one has my photo on and specifically says it is for Immigration Purposes.
