What happens to the 2yr Greencard in Biometrics?

Hello everyone,

I am going to my Biometrics tomorrow. I realize that I should bring my 2yr Greencard with the biometric letter for Biometrics.

Anyone knows what happens to the card? Am I supposed to submit it and do they take it away? Or do I keep the card until the I-751 gets approved and then I return the card?

Also, do they take the biometrics letter away? Should I bring my other NOA for the receipt of I-751 as well?

Why haven't these questions come to my mind until one day before the actual Biometrics day? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take the following to the biometrics appointment:

1. The NOA for the I-751.

2. The Biometrics Appointment letter.

3. Permanent Resident Card.

They do not take the PR card at the Biometrics.

I have my biometrics done today in Boston support office. All I needed to show was my green card and the biometrics appointment letter.

My appointment was at noon. I went in about half an hour early. After waiting for about 40 min., it took about 20 min. for fingerprints and a second for a photo. I spent overall a little more than an hour in the center.

I thought they were going to break my fingers bending and rolloing and pressing left and right!!! All ten, and it was very thorough. I had to do a couple of fingers printed for more than 10 times. The problem wasn't really my fingers or the machine. It seemed that the person who dofinger-printing kept the fingers too wet. Just my guess.

And people are asked to show their hands before fingerprinting. But I saw no one being rejected though.

Jan 22 - Send in I-751 via express mail.

Jan 23 - Received at VSC (according to USPS).

Jan 25 - Two Checks ($205 & $70) cashed by USCIS.

Jan 29 - Received a Blue Receipt for Biometrics ($70)

Feb 12 - NOA received

Feb 14 - Biometrics appointment letter received

Feb 22 - Biometrics done in Boston.

people are asked to show their hands / fingers before fingerprinting occurs to insur that there are no cuts or unhealed woulds that would give a misread or nonread.
