Hi everyone! I already ask how long it take to upgrade your case from lpr to IR and so far its 2 month (in nvc stage) So my question if your case is complete and and then upgrade while you wait for pd to be current, do you still have to wait for 2 months to get IL? Thank you so much for yours help...

Hello Lera66,

NVC processing times change some started off with having their case reviewed in 60 days, some 45 days, some 30 days. Look what i found, i found this thread it might give you an idea of how long it might take to upgrade a petition http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/537447-upgrading-case-via-email-vs-snail-mail/ When a petition is upgraded, it eliminates the wait time, visa is always available for this category. Let's say you have gotten your welcome letter and paid the necessary fees and sent the required documents to NVC, if your case is not current, your interview would not be scheduled. But if the case has been upgraded, you would be scheduled for the next available appointment at your Consulate, depending on how busy the Consulate is. I hope this helps. Thank you dordor it s what I was hoping so exacting because my embassy look like is faster.... The thing now I hope my husband make in 3 months so far he just got NOA waiting for finger print appointment. Thank you for your help dordor you very nice nice and best of luck in your futur...

Glad to hear your husband has started his Citizenship application, hoping he gets naturalized soonest. You can keep an eye on the Citizenship thread to see when his field office timeline to estimate when he would likely get his interview letter. I pray NVC sends you welcome letter so that while he waits for his interview, you can send in documents for and gets a case complete. As soon as you upgrade you would be scheduled for an interview. All the very best with the rest of the process.
