Hello there!

Sorry to bump a two year old topic, but I was googling this issue, and stumbled upon your post. I'm pretty much in the EXACT same predicament. The CA dmv told me they mailed my ID almost four weeks ago, I have something important coming up, and my passport recently expired. It's been driving me CRAZY. The process I had to go through the first time at the SF dmv was already such a nightmare.

How did this story end? What was the resolution? Any one else have a similar story/situation to share? Thanks!!!
