Sputum test.

Hello everyone..has anybody here undergo sputum test at St. Lukes recently? My mom told me she have to comeback 3 consecutive days for sputum test. She also told me that there is additional fee..if so? How much? Thank you.

I believe the one your mom told you was the smear test. They have to get 3 samples for 3 consecutive days. If you tested negative for that you go through the sputum test. That is what i understood from slec website.

Thank but is she still needs to wait for 2 mos culture if she came out negative in her sputum test? Iam i right? Thanks.

Yes she would need to wait 2 months to know the results. Am not sure about additional fee. I do know that if the result is positive for tb, she would need to pay another 11k or so for a new medical exam after her 6 months dots with slec.
