LPR Divorcing- applying for citizenship

Timeline

Husband has been a legal permanent resident for 6 years. Came over with CR1 visa. He has not left the country for longer than 2 weeks. We are currently in the process of thinking of divorce. Since he has been here for over 5 years does it matter that we are divorcing now in terms of his application for citizenship being approved or not? Will being divorced delay his application? I don't want there to be any unnecessary issues due to divorce. We have a child and do not want to jeopardize his status.

Also, any idea how applying while we are still married but getting divorced while the application is pending will impact the process?

Thank you!!

Lindsay

No it won't do any of that.

He's been an LPR for the full five year requirement.
