So my wife and step daughter went to SLEC Tuesday. Longa day as usual and since Yzzabelle is two they did the skin test and told them to come back Thursday.

Thursday Yzzabelle had a positive skin test so they did the x-ray and told her to come back Friday. They gave my wife her CD and envelope though as she was negative.

Today they said xray was negative, gave her Yzzabelle's CD but told her they were sending the envelope straight to the embassy.

I thought that they were giving all the applicants the stuff to take to the embassy now? Hope they didn't screw up......

So my wife and step daughter went to SLEC Tuesday.

Curious what the process was for your step daughter?

The USCIS totally screwed up my step daughter's initial application and it's taken nearly 9 months to straighten things out. So she will not be processing at the same time as my wife. I know the fee is only $185 but are the procedural steps the same for adult/child?

Likewise does the child get the same interview letter? Just a formality? It's kinda hard for a CO to interview a 2-3 year old. CR-2 is 'automatic' as long as accompanied by parent?

Will I have to pay the AOS fee again and resubmit all those docs or will I be able to refer back to her mother's filing? It's all so confusing.

Thanks in advance.

Only difference we had in the medical was the cost and initially the TB skin test vs the xray, though since the skin test was positive they did the xray next. Since it was a skin test, the medical was not two consecutive days, but rather Tuesday and then back Thursday.

It does state on the SLEC website not to schedule a child for a Thursday medical as reading of the skin test is a 48-72 window (before its ready, and before it expires) and since they aren't open weekends it would expire.

We get all the same paperwork for Yzzabelle that May gets so you should get the interview letter just like your wife. Have no idea how they interview a child though, or whether you have to pay another AOS fee (I would hope not).
