My husband was thinking of getting one of cousin for a nanny to my 2 kids, since i'll be working. The only thing he could research of was:

You need to go for department of Labor to asked advices, someone advices us that: you need to post a "wanted live-in foreign nanny/maid first in your area by advertisement in newspaper. If somewhat no one will apply to your advertisement, that you could proved that you advertised it and no one here in US wanted that job. Then the next steps you need to do, is proved that you are overly income qualified, for you to apply a "working visa" for someone in the philippines to be a maid/nanny in US. That you are required to submit how many years of contract you gonna hire the person for her working visa matters, how much her income? they will tell you how much you should pay a live-in foreign nanny/maid in US, whats her benefits to live-in with you - like working visa, ticket, income tax, ss tax, food & lodging, paid vacation, day-off . If you passed everything on Labor Dept & Federal about your income to support a foreign nanny/maid, on those matters of benefits, thats the time they will tel you to go ahead and hire a foreign employee, then you will apply her a working visa, buy ticket for her to come to US.

We think it's too much work to do, and totally very expensive, since everything should be in details to report and should be paying her enough and it shows that you could paid her enough within federal or labor law in here. And its always being reported, because they we're just trying you to prove that your not doing a human trapiking. That person that you hired should be working only to you as your the employer registered to her working visa. If somewhat she tried working outside someday within her working visa you gave, it will showed to federal the income she's getting at to some other employer she tried working too.

I hope these info's helps .... but if anyone sees falseness in here, i don't mind being corrected. God bless!

goodluck!
