I am a USC petitioning for my wife. I had petitioned for my wife as a GC.

My I-130 was still waiting to be adjudicated (pending) at VSC when I naturalized. I had upgraded my petition.

Recently, I got a letter saying my case has been transferred to the local field office at Baltimore.

I thought the VSC goes through the I-130 and was surprised with the notice.

I am confused about:

(a) Is it normal for the I-130 to be transferred to the local office?

(b) How can I check the processing times at the Baltimore local office? The USCIS website does not list the processing times for I-130 for Baltimore.

I would appreciate your suggestions.

Please note this is a stand alone I-130 (my wife is still abroad).

Yes, transfers to field offices do happen. They will probably look further into your file before they approve your wife. This is nothing to be concerned about.

I am an USC and my file was transferred to the Dallas Field Office. It was adjudicated and then sent to NVC.

There is no way to check the Baltimore field office processing times. You have to use the same processing times as the normal processing centers.
