Given that most politicians are lawyers, I doubt the 'he's a lawyer' bit will work.

One thing is for sure, he's a much better speaker than our current President. Will that be enough? I don't know. I don't see much to this guy in terms of a policy advantage over Hillary or Edwards, but he does have a huge charisma advantage? I doubt that will be enough.

That probably explains a lot in this country. You guys should think about voting in people who are actually intelligent rather than lawyers.. Much like in the court room, a lawyer knows how to spin it to make the jury, the voters, believe any BS they throw out. We need more doctors, scientist and engineers to run for congress.. People who will actually "get something done", rather than talk about it..

I think you'll find that politicians in most countries have a legal background. Guess what Tony Blair used to be...

Touche

If the Dems want to win, they have to nominate HRC.

I'm thinking Edwards/Obama is a winning combination, depending. Nothing gets the far right more worried than a Clinton on the ballot; they won't even have to make gay marriage an issue to get people running out to the polls.

We'll see. I know I personally dislike listening to Edwards.

Yeah, that's the plan. The netroots votes for Edwards because he lets Obama give the speeches.

It's a joke, Gupt.

Clark would probably make a better running mate for either of them.

Edwards/Clark? Egads, that'll be a charisma black hole. Clark is even more robotic than Gore is.

You need to have HRC at the head of the ticket if you wanna win. Unless the Republicans are dumb enough to nominate Brownback, then ya'll could run anyone.

Obama and Edwards are both weak on foreign policy, hence Clark.

I don't think HRC would win, but it's very early yet. She has the same triangulation problems Bill did, but worse. I can see a lot of Dems crossing the party line if she's the nominee, especially if McCain or Guiliani gets the nomination. (Guiliani doesn't have a chance in hell, but McCain might if he can stomach sucking up to the religious right one last time.)

And personally, I can't take any more Clintons or Bushes. It's ridiculous. We shouldn't have a damned aristocracy. It would be tough; I'm not a straight-party voter, so it's HRC, who I don't like, or a party that's proven recently it shouldn't be allowed to play with the bombs until it doesn't its homework. Bleh.
