NSC Receipt Number

HI guys ,

help me how to read the Receipt number ..

My case went to NSC and R number LIN15900.......

what I understand LIN mean NSC then 15 is fiscal year ( 2105 ) but how this is 900 explain the computer work days ?

I sent out I-130 on September 30th they receive it on October 3rd and priority date is October 6th.

so please explain

that code is not for receipt number its for case number which you get at NVC .. at NVC your first three letters is the Embassy you will interview at then the next 4 letter is 2015 which is the year.. receipt number is just a number they pull out the system I believe. so no need of trying to figure out that one.. try the code once you get a case # at NVC

Thanks for the reply but i totally confuse by your answer. On my Notice of action says Receipt # LIN15900...... and i don't get the approval yet ( which who knows how long NSC took ) . I know how NVC assign case number. So. if you can explain how 900 replicate then it would great.

sorry!! didn't know the receipt number had a code as well thought only NVC case number .. never looked up either one.. I'm sure someone will come along to help you.. its all confusing to me, sorry again
