Tax transcript or 1040?

I have just posted a question, but thought it was best to put this separately.

My husband is a USC working abroad. He has recently done his tax returns, but it is too early to get the transcripts. They are not showing up on the IRS system yet. We have the 1040s that were completed for us by a Expat Tax return company, so can we send them and bring the transcripts to the interview.

Our IV bill is ready to be paid today and we have everything else. It would be a shame to delay things by another couple of weeks. We were thinking of sending the 1040s and all the worksheets etc that we were given by the company and putting a note that we would bring the transcript to the interview.

What do you think?

Before April 15 you don't have to include the past year's tax return/transcript. So you have two options. Either send in 2013 transcript as the most recent, or if you prefer to send 2014, you can send the 1040 and ALL schedules, W2s, etc. If you have your interview after April 15, then you'd have to bring 2014 return of transcript to the interview.

I'm doing the latter. I sent in my paperwork recently with the 2013 transcript, and will bring the 2014 transcript to the interview.

We don't have any transcripts yet as we have just filed 3 years together, 2013 slightly earlier and efiled. The other ones have to be paper filed.

I think we're going to risk sending the forms with a note explaining that the transcripts are not available yet and we will bring them to the interview.

Good idea?

Haven't done 2014 yet as we don't even have our Spanish tax return information yet. That can't be done until the 2nd of May. We will do it on 2nd May and then the US one just after!

Oh I see. I think that should be okay then. From what I've read if you do that it's very important to send in all accompanying schedules and W2's.
