06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

What document is requested for medical result pick up at the embassy in Dominican Republica?

They only asked my husband for his passport. He was in and out, less than 5 minutes he said.

How long did it take to get your medical records/how far in advance did you do medical before interview?

My fiancé got his medical done March 2 and picked them up March 3, just before his interview! If they see your interview is close they can speed up the results. He did everything in two days and we didn't have any problems.

The total amount of days from the date I mailed in our K1 Visa application to the day my fiancé stepped foot into the USA:

1 year, 3 months and 8 days.

The amount of days from the date we mailed in our AOS to the date everything was approved (after 3 RFEs):

7 months & 5 days

Which makes our journey a total of:

2 years, 3 months, and 8 days

You can do the medical the day before. We had no issues. They no longer mail the appointment letter so some people, like us get an appointment right away. The system is brand new since January 2015. Only the people going through the process now know how it works.

The total amount of days from the date I mailed in our K1 Visa application to the day my fiancé stepped foot into the USA:

1 year, 3 months and 8 days.

The amount of days from the date we mailed in our AOS to the date everything was approved (after 3 RFEs):

7 months & 5 days

Which makes our journey a total of:

2 years, 3 months, and 8 days

Your fiance was lucky that he got the results at time for his interview.

Many people get delay when they dont go on time to the medical, best advise it is go to the medical 10 or 15 bussiness days , just in case that something wrong come.

Some people need repeat dome test, if you go the day before you cant repeat the test and that will delay the process.

You can do the medical the day before. We had no issues. They no longer mail the appointment letter so some people, like us get an appointment right away. The system is brand new since January 2015. Only the people going through the process now know how it works.

I see what you mean, but, you could still go to the interview without the medical results they will still interview you, your status would be pending until the embassy received the results. The consultario would send the results to the embassy once everything is complete. This was explained to my fiancé and luckily he didn't need to be retested.

Sometimes you have to choose between having your interview two months away or less than a week away. For those that don't want to wait any longer (we surely didn't) they should take advantage of getting everything done ASAP but for those that don't mind waiting for two months then they won't have to rush everything I guess. We were just at the point we didn't want to prolong this now nine month process any longer and I'm happy we took the chance when it was given. We could still be waiting around for April 20th if we waited.

If you end up needing to be retested at least you got the interview part out of the way and have the proof that you went to the medical but are just waiting for the results. Even if he did need to be retested I'm sure it wouldn't have taken as long as waiting until the end of April for the interview.
