Hello everyone.

I'm currently waiting for my checklist response to arrive at the NVC and an expedite request to be reviewed, and have prepared everything I need for the medical and interview. I just had a question regarding the medical. I have already filled out the required questionnaire for Knightsbridge, and have obtained my medical records from my GP in the Midlands. I have now however moved to the Cambrian coast in Wales.

My issue is that I have a history of depression with some incidents of self-harm. I was last treated medically in 2013 and received workplace counselling which was enormously beneficial in helping me change my outlook. I haven't had any further occurrences since then. The last note on my medical record states "patient has received counselling and is feeling better. Will continue to medicate and review in 4-6 weeks." I discontinued my use of anti-depressants and haven't attended my GP since.

I have read some threads in which users report that they have had to have their medical a rescheduled so they can obtain a note from their GP to show that they are no longer at risk of harming themselves or depressed. However, because of my move to Wales getting back to my GP would be difficult; I would effectively need to register here and book an appointment.

I was wondering whether the note in my medical records would be sufficient enough for the medical, or whether I would need a letter from my GP.

Many thanks for your advice, as always.

Hello

Please get a letter from your GP. My now Wife is on Anti depressants and Needed to get a letter from the GP stating that she was not a danger go herself or other. She is on them for PMT. It delayed her visa about 2 weeks till she was able to get it all together. If you have the letter with you at the medical it may help you sail through.
