Hi,

I'm here to share my citizenship story to help people that need to report to Chicago office:

Submit application 3 months before 5 years employment based green card date.

Application was moving fast , so I did not keep track of dates. (sorry... i was not aware of this forum)

"Time tracking" changed after I had the interview in Chicago office. After the interview there was a feeling that nothing is moving... This is when I started to search Google trying to find out what is wrong, and I found you guys.

This office is super super super slow. The lady in the interview said I will get something in the mail after 2 weeks. ya, right...

One of the things that bother me was the fact that after the interview, you are not even supposed to get a traffic ticket else you need to fill something on the back of the oath letter. right?

So my status changed after 2 months: "in line for oath". 3 days after that: "letter sent". Got it in the mail after 4 days. Had to wait another 10 days for the oath ceremony.

Chicago office does NOT have passport service like some members here said.

Now that it's all done I can say goodbye to USCIS.

Wish you guys all the best. I know many of you have the same issue.

Btw, I should have pay more attention to some "passports" post here. only after I gave away my papers to do passport, I realized that I'm actually trap inside the USA. hopefully it should be Ok and I will not need to travel outside in the next month.

That is so true. Chicago office is one of the slowest in the nation. Our AOS is almost 9 months now. We had interview on Dec 11th 2014. Everything went really well, couple general questions. We been together 6 years. We been told that we are approved and we should get GC within 2 week. Right?! It's two months now. We haven't heard back. I went to infopass in January and been told our AOS is awaiting a decision and they are very backlogged and we should here something in 30 days. Well still nothing. So yeah. Applying for something in Chicago takes really forever!
