Hi,

My husband will be staying in the Philippines for more than a month and he plans to ship his clothes with luggage here. He plans to send some chocolates too as gift.

I would like to know if there will be any fees we have to pay once the package is here? will it be held at customs or can it be directly delivered to our house?

He wont be sending any electronic devices just used clothes and some chocolates.

We just want to know if this is possible. Any advise you can give us is highly appreciated!

Thank you!

Have him send everything in a Balikbayan box if he has time (couple months for it to arrive), shipping using FEDEX, UPS, DHL will be quite spendy and there will be fees/tax.

will the balikbayan box be delivered directly in our house? also, he is living in washington state, in what shipment store is the balikbayan box available? is it like fedex, dhl or something?

Thank you!

Yes the box is normally delivered right to your home, stuff we send is always delivered to the door, cost is about $80 - $100. Not sure what freight forwarders there are in Washington state for sending a balikbayan box, we use UMAC, but there is FOREX, LBC, Manila Forwarders and others.

The cheapest way is to send a Balikbayan box...but certainly not the quickest, so plan ahead. I know with Delta you get two bags (50 pounds). 50 to 70 pounds is an extra $75 each. $150 gets you 140 pounds. More expensive, but that's a lot of clothes and chocolate and it there when you are. :)

We still have more than a month before he gets here.

His options are either fedex/ups and now this balikbayan option. i think we will just go to the balikbayan box.

thank you so much!
