I am preparing the AOS package and I would like to fill out AP as well. I have some questions.

1. Part 3. Question 1. Date of Intended Departure

I don't know what date we will be traveling. Could we put any date we want or "Undetermined" is ok?

2. Part 3. Question 2. Expected Length of Trip

Again, I don't know how long we will be traveling (for emergency or honeymoon).

Put whatever we want or "Undetermined" is ok?

3. You guys skip Part 4, Part 5 and Part 6, right?

4. Part 7. On a separate sheet(s) of paper, please explain how you qualify for an advance parole document and what circumstances warrant issuance of advance parole. Include copies of any documents you wish considered.

What did you guys write? Did you include any supporting documents?

5. With this document, it says,

"If you are an applicant for adjustment of status, a copy of the USCIS or former INS receipt as evidence that you filed the adjustment application" I am just filing now so I have no receipt. What else do I need to include with this?

a separate sheet include A#, name, and number of question

a copy of the biographical info from the passport

two photos with A# in the back

a check of $170 U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Someone please help!

I am on my third one now. You just copy your visa on your passport, information detailing who you are on your passport and immigration card which has your A number on it. I always had a flight paid for and talk about visiting relatives in the body of the letter when I applied for my wife's I-131. Attach a copy of fingerprinting and copy of I-485 with the application. The only kicker is the application now calls for 3/4 face photo, while if you call the 1-800 number they tell you two passport photos is ok.

I called the 1-800 "information" line. The lady there says disregard the 3/4 face photograph. They are going with a full frontal photo for the application ie. passport photo. Enclose two with the application.

What? where did you read that you need 3/4 face photos? USCIS stopped using those a while back. The current set of instructions for I-131 (Rev 02/26/08) state that they need two full face frontal view photos, the same as other applications.

It can take up to 90 days to approve an application for an AP document. You don't have to have been present in the US for any specific time to file I-131.
