I brought both...a copy of the NVC letter with MNL # and a screenshot of CEAC website that says "READY". Plus the appointment letter and 2x2 photos.

Ok, My fiance just got her medical approved but they asked her for her letter from the NVC appointment confirmation on the first day and she had her appointment confirmation from where we schedule her interview and had her status ready screenshot from the DOS and gave them those two and just now on her way out the guard told her it was very important that she has that letter from the NVC when she goes to the interview. I'm assuming he is talking about a letter that is in that packet we still dont have. Has anyone else experienced this before at SLEC?

If he is referring to the interview at the embassy... Don't need a copy of the NVC letter for the K-1 (immigrant visas different story as that is their interview confirmation letter).

Don't "assume" , there is NOTHING in the letter the embassy sends (that never arrives).

Everything that is required for the interview is listed in the embassy instructions letter. If you don't see it listed there, it isn't needed.

Kipper she had everything you did and Hank we followed the instructions for the interview from here. On the first day of the medical she told me they asked for a letter from the petitioner and she took a pic of someone else's letter and it was a letter from the embassy and I told her that your ceac ready and appointment conf takes the place of that letter and since she was approved that it was ok and then when she was leaving on the 2ed day the guard told her it very important to have that letter from the NVC when you go to the interview. So I really don't know what he is talking about but we have the exact same thing kipper does .

There was a new guard hired on a few weeks ago. If someone is saying that, perhaps it is him and he's confused. But really there's no reason to talk with the guards after leaving Releasing on the first floor when medical is complete. I don't understand why the guard is talking to the people exiting SLEC. Pointless.

That's very strange....my 2nd day of Medical was last week (Jan 26) and no one from SLEC told me about this. In any event, please don't be confused between the two...as far as I know, the NVC letter is the one the petitioner receives with the MNL # and the US embassy manila letter is the one the beneficiary will received to inform them that their petition is in USEM. And neither of those documents were asked from me during the interview.

All I can suggest to you is go with the odds that majority of K1 visa beneficiary not needing the USEM letter for the interview. We didn't and now we got an approval ...we figured that the worst case scenario is going back again and wait for that mysterious letter.

Neither the NVC MNL letter or the USEM letter are required for the USEM interview.

If you go to the USEM gate the morning of your interview without your DS-160 or DS-260, USEM appointment confirmation letter and passport then you won't get in the USEM.
