Exactly. Issues like this aren't about religion, they're about common decency. The church had plenty of time to say 'no, find a different venue.' They did not do that. Instead they disrespected a dead woman, her children, her wife, her friends and her family.

A Colorado church refused to hold a funeral service for a lesbian woman after the family declined to remove photos of her showing affection to her wife.

Vanessa Collier, 33, died in December and her funeral service was scheduled at New Hope Ministries in Lakewood, Colo., on Jan. 10. But shortly before the service was set to begin, New Hopes Pastor Ray Chavez discovered that the familys memorial video contained photos of Collier kissing her wife.

The church refused to hold the funeral in its building unless the photos were removed. And the family instead decided to move the service elsewhere.

They said that they didnt agree with her alternative lifestyle, Dawnnetta Pierce-Fernandez, Colliers friend of 15 years told The Washington Post. They gave the family the option to edit the video and the family decided that they were not going to allow Vanessas life to be edited.

Its devastating and disgusting, honestly, she added.

On Tuesday afternoon, friends and family of Collier protested outside the church, calling for Dignity in Death for Collier and other gay people.

If you had submitted paperwork to the mosque saying that this was what you were doing and they didn't bother to read it and came in after your guests/mourners were all there and kicked you out and then refused to give you your money back, then yes, I would agree you could have a Christian funeral and serve pork and beer in a mosque. The mosque should have looked at what they were allowing before it started.

Fun facts about the case in the OP

1) The church had the video for days and did not object.

2) The church stopped the service 15 minutes in and announced that either they could not play the video or they had to leave

3) the church is now refusing to refund the money.

It should be noted that the common custom with slide shows and videos for funerals is to show them with their friends and loved ones, looking happy and affectionate.
