DId you apply for your SS #? You need that for both driver license and the job, and it is free, so get it now. You only have until day 74 to apply. If you miss that deadline you have to wait for your green card or EAD before you can apply. Needless delay. Don't let it happen. Apply now. Fast and easy and free.

You need to file for your green card (officialy known as AOS), at which time you can file for AP and EAD (the latter is the one that lets you work). You need to marry first before you can do any of this. EAD only takes about 4 weeks after you send in your AOS application. So if working is important, do things in this order:

1. Get married

2. Apply for AOS, AP and EAD

3. Once EAD card arrives (about 4 week wait), then happy job hunting.

Driver license: All you need is Social Security Card. No need to wait for anything else. So get your SS card, go to Motor Vehicle office, and take it from there.

P.S. You need your I-94 (arrival record) to apply for SS card. You can download that online from USCIS website 7 to 10 days after you arrive.
