As of today I believe we're pursuing K1 route. Planning a trip in a couple of months. Unless more compelling insights on a alternative.

This forum/community seems very supportive. I'm trying to not get too overwhelmed and stress about everything and this site is helpful.

Concerned about the little things, names, Vietnamese people commonly have 4 names which isn't very conducive to western forms...etc. Even when remitting money overseas they are very explicit that their names need to be displayed exactly and in order....and concerned on these forms how that is.

Even my names confusing as my parents when they came over kinda game me 2 middle names or 2 first name buts it captured differently on all my forms, such as birth cert, passport, DL, SSN, all are different.

I've heard all the bad stories and stuff so just here more experiences, those that encountered hiccups what is the resolutions of those ..etc.

I know you can encounter friction here and particularly there that can be seemingly arbitrary.

Was looking for any other insights in prep for trip to be better prepared to either do while abroad or bring along.

Thanks in advance all.

Regarding the 2 middle names. My then-fiancee has 2 middle names and she has not had any issues with them. The U.S. consulate in HCMC understands the commonality of these double middle names so you will be fine. Just make sure you list them in the correct order and keep it consistent throughout (when petitioning for K-1, listing them on your supporting docs, filing out online forms, etc.)

Bring a copy of G-325a and draft a Letter of Intent to Marry with you for your fiancee to sign when you go over there.

Keep all itinerary, boarding passes, tickets, hotel receipts, restaurant receipts, credit card statements, and take lots of pictures.

You'll need them for your K-1 submission.
