And New Orleans after what happened there.

Most Black crime is of course Black on Black.

But Black victims do not seem to get any consideration.

Why is that?

Same story there. They voted a douche bag in again. How stupid can you be?

And as mentioned before people confuse class and poverty for racism. On top of the " I owe the country nothin but the country owes me everything" attitude that thrives in places like that.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

The profile of a typical drug user is not a poor black, or Latino, but a middle-income white, aged 12-25. They make up more than 75 to 80 percent of the drug users in America.

But do they make up more than 75-80% of violent criminals in America? No.

It shouldnt matter if your white brown black purple blue pink people should be treated the same by the police.

so what do we conclude from here? basically u're telling blacks and hispanics 'well.. tough luck ur peoplez commit all the crimes, so, live with it, its for a greater good'.. or tell ur black or hispanics friends (LOL! which i don't think the pro-profilers have any) 'my friend, i know racial profiling is not fair, but it's for the good of all the citizens'.. again.. all whites can defend profiling easily, since they will never be profiled.. i don't think there's gonna be a black dude or hispanic saying 'hell yea! we want to be profiled, we can do some bad sh!t'

Well....no, I'm not advocating racial profiling (not to mention that it's illegal); the only point

I was trying to make is that racial profiling works.

What I am saying is that police should search and get on whoever is committing the crimes backs, period. If the umpa lumpas are committing the majority of crime then the police should be targeting them and not the old ladyies of a town. Common sense really..

If there had been proper policing those 14 cities mentioned above would not be on the list of the most dangerous cities in the US..

I think we need to clarify what we're talking about - on the one hand there's the sort of profiling which pertains to active police investigation of crimes in which there is a reasonable reason (for example, an eye witness account) to suspect say, a black guy in an orange sweater - vs. unconscious value judgements (where no crime has been committed) which lead some cops to pull over a group of black guys in a car for no justifiable reason.

yeah.. if a black guy with an orange sweater was a suspect, then looking for black guys with orange sweaters is not discriminatory because you're following the description.. but if a cop is patrollin around and stops a bunch of black kids because they were outside chillin on the street, using his biased judgement, then that's when racial profiling is wrong..

same thing as in the southern states where they pull 'illegals' just because they look of hispanic descent, and they've fukced up pretty bad because there are tons of USC that are from hispanic descent and look like 'mexicans' but are not illegal..

that's very different from a cop searching only hispanics and blacks just because 'the statistics' say its more common for them to be criminals..

What gets me is why nobody in the US ever asks themselves questions like, what is a group of males doing cruising around at 3:30am in the morning.. But boy if the police dare to question this carload of guys, then every single civil rights lawyer is on to them. If it is a white cop, they are being racist. If it is a black cop, they are profiling..

While these games go on, the criminals laugh and continue on with their crimes. Hence the current inhabitable state of so many US cities..

What sort of losers just sit on a corner and 'chill'...

Since when is it illegal to be a loser? I looked out the window from work this afternoon, it was windy outside with sub-zero windchills and what do I see? A bunch of losers huddled around each other smoking in the cold. If being a loser was against the law, they'd all be in jail. At least it would be warm in there.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I think you mean uninhabitable ;)

I'm not going to pretend that it isn't a grey area, but neither am I going to deny that unconciously racist attitudes are present in a surprising number of people.

it seems that you dont see a lot of american teenagers who actually dress with baggy pants and chill on the street..

which btw.. the 'gangsta' clothing is not cheap at all.. so not every good for nothing criminal can afford to buy a mark ecko sweatshirt.. i even buy 'gangsta' (the name u call it, because it's actually called urban clothing) and im not a criminal..

so, how are teenagers in australia? they all dress like abercrombie and fitch kids and go to the library instead of wasting time on the corner like any average kid in US or anywhere else in the world would do?

yes uninhabitable..

Coming from Australia I was shocked to see that so many parts of this country are run down slums. I just think Americans are so used to it that it has become the way of life. Most US cities are run down and don't even come close to comparing to European, Asian or Australian cities. I look at the cause and the solution. Others simply chose to ignore it..

Black, White Hispanic, Umpa Lumpa whatever.. People here have to get over this race ###### and move the country forward. Rather than holding people for ransom for the past, for their own gain..

how?

do you think that todays teens, whose parents lived still in a racist and discriminatory era (50's-90's) are gonna tell their kids 'hey son, what happened to me no longer happens, so suck it up, racism no longer exists'.. what base do they have to tell their kids to move forward and stop looking to the past? they don't have one..

i don't think it's that easier for them to 'move forward' as many critics say..
