WHEN I SENT MY PACKAGE TO NVC I SENT A LETTER FROM IRS SAYING THAT I DIDNT FILE TAXES BACK IN 2011 BUT I NEVER SENT A LETTER EXPLAINING WHY. I DIDNT MAKE ENOUGH MONEY ON 2011 AND I WAS STILL A DEPENDENT UNDER MY MOMS TAXES.

DON'T TELL ME I WILL GET A F#@$% CHECK LIST FOR THAT.

ANYONE WITH A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE?

In my experience I have seen people get a checklist for not hand witting an explanation of why they were not required to file taxes. If I were you I wouldn't leave it to chance...I would write a nice explanation and send it now ! I sent the IRS letter stating I did not file plus a copy of the income thresholds for needing to file and my signed and dated handwritten explanation of why I was not required to file. Maybe a bit overkill but with NVC I did not want to send too little info.I understand it might re-set the 60 days but if you wait and you do get a checklist it will be that much longer. Good luck....maybe it will skate by.

Did it work out for you? It really backfired for me. The first time I submitted my AOS package a realized that I have filed wrong, and I immediately contacted them to tell them about my mistake. The person on the phone told me not to worry, and to re-send them again, which I did. Anyways, that completely screwed things for me. Documents got misplace, they claim that they don't have, but they do. They keep asking for one thing at the time. I just sent my FOUR AOS package, and I can guarantee you that I will get a checklist again in three months because I probably forgot to put a COMMA, OR A PERIOD somewhere. Anyways, bottom line is that NVC sucks, and it is just a matter of luck...
