Travel 3 months before filing N-400 / physical presence fulfilled

Hello everybody,

I have read so many threads about this but still not quite sure my case was answered.

I'm married to a US citizen and I will fulfill 3 years of continuous residence on July 2, 2015. I travel a lot back and fourth but today I completed my 18 months requirement of physical presence in the United States while never staying out for more than 6 months at a time.

I need to travel again in a month and it's very important that I file for citizenship as soon as possible. The soonest I could apply is April 3rd 2015 (90 days before) however I won't be back before May 1st or 2nd.

The question is: Could I file the moment I come back? Physical presence is already fulfilled but I'm not sure if continuous presence would be considered fulfilled as I would be out between February and end of April (however I'm maintaining my residence here as I have been for the last 3 years).

All responses are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your reply buckyball.

Another question: How about if I prepare the file and have a friend mail it for me on April 5th for example. I could include the in and out dates and leave the last date open and adjust it during the interview (from what I read around, this seems to be possible). This way I would gain one month instead of waiting until May to file.

Is this considered OK or risky?
