So I had an appointment in April 8th of 2014 and 3 weeks prior took my wife to get her medical exam at st lukes

they said her xray looked suspicious and she had to do 3 day sprutum testing and the end of the 3 days they said she has tb

canceled our interview and gave her the dot form

she declined because we already had a apartment contract in Cebu for 6 months and didn't want to pay the expense to move there

not to mention her entire family beign here in Cebu

so the dr said "ok go get treatment in Cebu and when your xray is clear and your treatment is over get a letter from your dr and you can return and then I will give you your injections"

so immediately hen we returned the next day I took her to her dr and she started treatment 8 months later her xray is clear and her dr has given us a letter saying she is ok to travel now that she completed her treatment bla bla bla

so now I have a letter from dr xrays negative sprutum test and we call st lukes and they say ok you can come back next year #######!!!!

the dr never said anything about waiting an additional year after the treatment was complete

please if anyone knows or has any ideas what I can do here please help ive been here in the phillipines with my wife since sept of 2012

it would be nice if we could leave already since I have family myself back home I haven't seen for over 2 years

leaving my wife isn't a solution!! please advise

Might be they meant after the first of January, not meaning you have to wait one whole year? I think on the web page they are closing down a couple of days which would make getting exams for visa a problem. Hope that they meant after the new year for you!

I agree with Net. Call back after the holidays and see what happens. Enjoy your time with your fiancé. Just think of those who had their fiancé go through treatment without them being there and you were able to give your support in person. Very admirable on your part and too, I'm sure she appreciates you for sticking by her side.

If things go sour after the new year its time to contact your Congressperson or Senator. We can give some help if you need to take this.

Enjoy the holiday together.

I've talked with a SLEC doctor about outside treatment and he said that many times the outside treatment doesn't meet the CDC standard for the USEM. Such things as monthly sputum testing and the mandatory minimum of 130 doses were things he said were not necessarily done with outside treatment, so SLEC couldn't accept the treatment as it was short of the CDC''s TB treatment directives for immigrants.

It might help if you have the specific treatment dose amounts and test dates with results.

I suspect though that anything short of SLEC's DOT is going to be hard to get passed, otherwise everyone would probably be trying to return to their house to complete the treatment locally as to avoid the 6 months of DOT.

ah but when they said she couldn't return there for another year for testing I asked can she just do do there then rather than wait another year and they said NO

I fail to under stand why she cant have another examination if I am paying for it that just sounds stupid especially since she isn't sick anymore what they don't want my money?
