how could we know if our paper is touch by the uscis

You can find out by calling them and listening to the IVR system. They will let you know through the automated system, the status of your application. Where are you at in the process?

January 10, 2005 Mailed I-130 TSC (recieved January 18th 2005 with CSC receipt number)

January 25th 2005 NOA1 (recieved in mail January 31th 2005)

Feb 16, 2005 via email NOA2 Approved!

NVC

March 14, 2005 NVC automated system states I-864 fee and DS3032 mailed out regular US mail

March 22, 2005 Received I-864 fee and DS3032 in mail

March 22, 2005 mailed out 70.00 I-864 fee and completed presigned DS3032 Express Mail

March 23, 2005 I-864 fee received at 12:20pm signed by H Horn

March 23, 2005 DS3032 received at 11:17am signed by S Merfield

March 29, 2005 DS3032 stating received in NVC automated system

April 4, 2005 IV Fee bill generated

April 15, 2005 IV Fee bill received in mail

April 16, 2005 mailed out 380.00 IV Fee bill regular US postail mail

April 25, 2005 I-864 form recieved in mail

April 25, 2005 Completed I-864 form mailed back to NVC

May 16, 2005 DS230 generated

May 26, 2005 Received DS230, mailed back May 27th

June 1, 2005 NVC receives DS230

June 13, 2005 CASE COMPLETE

Timeline

You need to register at the USCIS site to have them send you notifications by email of any status changes on your accounts, you can log in to that account as well, and it will show you what your current status is as well as the last date that someone looked at or 'touched' your file.

A touch is usually when someone has looked at your file but the status information hasn't changed. We have no idea what they did, if anything, but it is a record that as of that day someone had the file open for some reason. If you check the file daily you will see when it is 'touched' because they don't send you email notifications unless the status actually changes. Hope this helps.

NVC Timeline

11/15/2005 - NVC case number assigned

01/04/2006 - NVC completed the case... ( 50 days)

01/11/2006 Case sent to Embassy

01/16/2006 Case deliverd to Embassy as per DHL tracking

February 7th, 2006 Found out Interview date by Calling DOS (202-663-1225)

February 13, 2006 - Packet 4 received

March 21st, 2006 - Medical

March 23rd, 2006 - Interview --- VISA APPROVED

March 24th - Passport received. ( Applicant picked up passport from Courier/delivery service office)

April 7th - Hubby's POE at Chicago.

April 10th - Trip to SSA Local office to apply for Social Security Card.

April 27th - 1st Welcome letter

May 1st - 2nd Welcome letter

May5th - Received Social Security card in mail

May 11th - Received Green Card in mail

196 Days @ USCIS ( 178 for NOA2 + 18 case transfer at NVC)

50 Days @ NVC to complete the case

13 Days @ case transfer at embassy

65 Days @ Embassy

Total -324 days from NOA1 to Visa approval
