Hello everyone. We have recieved our mnl number, took the medical exams, paid via fees and scheduled our interview.when we arrived at the embassy, we were told to go home because they do not have our documents. Nvc sent the packet November 13th. Any suggestions? I thought once the mnl number was issued, we would be good to go. They want us to wait for the embassy letter and instructions. Problem is, no one seems to get the letter. Need advise

Time to get a congressman or senator involved. It does not take a month for your documents to be shipped between the NVC and USEM. Waiting for a letter from the embassy there, is to wait forever. Mail service is horrible, and generally they never bother because the mail service is horrible.

I agree, the mail can not be relied upon. Nvc is taking the packet.we are being told to wait until Friday that our packet may be caught up in customs in the Philippines. After Friday, I may take your advise on the congressman. Have you went this rout yourself? Thanks

Only went this route when my wife's AOS was held up. But it shouldn't take a month to get your documents sent from the NVC. For one they have been electronically scanned, and the electronic copy is there immediately. The hard copies are sent in a diplomatic pouch. I have hard time believing a pouch they are not allowed to open can be held up in customs so long. When I got the MNL number from the NVC, they told me the papers would be at the Manila embassy in the matter of a few days. This was back in 2011, when the NVC was not so backed up. But I can't believe a package sent a month ago has not made it to the embassy. Something has gone wrong here, or the NVC is lying about having shipped it.

Well to say the least, we are a little irritated. When we call the embassy, they want us to schedule the interview, saying we are ready, then turn us away. Nvc doesn't have an answer.it just doesn't make any sense. Other visa journey members have said they didn't recieve a letter at all.thanks for the reply.
