NVC does not make money from K1 cases. The USCIS makes the money from those cases which is why their i-129F processing is normally faster. But they pay more, have to do more work for a green card, and in the end are normally longer to greencard while shorter to visa.

After all is said and done, The Department of State ends up with a good chunk of that money, doesn't it?

That's a good way to explain it. :) Wish I could put these things across as well as you do, NLR. Thanks!

Good with words, I am. LOL!

Kind of. They make more money from tourist, work, and student visas. They only get $445 per case. Sometimes less if there are multiple AOS to one petitioner. The USCIS makes $420 per I-130. But I think the DOS still gets money from the government whereas the USCIS only makes money from filing fees etc... They are self sufficient.

Okay, I am just becoming really frustrated with this whole process and I have no idea of what to do. I called my congressman again today, the people at his office were so nasty. They told me that at the moment they are very busy, and they can't look into this until next year. I don't know if it is the fact that I have a really thick accent, or maybe I just sound annoying, lol.. Who knows! Well, maybe I just have to start going to church more often....

Basically, I just want to blame the government for everything.
