Hey guys! Well I am in Texas now. I have a couple of questions.

I went to Southside bank and they said I can open an account with them, But not a debit, Why not? I thought I could.

What documents do I need to apply for SSN and can I apply for it before the wedding?

I would assume that they can't give you a Debit account because you don't have a SSN. Debit cards are also used as credit transcations.

Each bank can set up their way of doing business. Banking is a state thing, so no one way for the whole US either. Try a different bank and see what they say. Some K1s can't even get an account at all.

Yes, get SSN in maiden name before the wedding. Look at the VJ menu bar. Click Guides. In the right column you will find the best and most detailed info on getting a SSN. Look for the link.
