My NoA for the I-175 says "In order to further process your petition, you will be receiving an Application Support Centre (ASC) appointment notice with a specific time, date, and location to capture your fingerprints, photo, and signature".

I'm assuming that they still have to review my package and it's possible that they may need more evidence or call for an interview? They make it sound like everything is good and I'll be contacted for my biometrics appointment. But that can't be, since the NoA happened like a day after my package arrived.

Any info on what to expect next is appreciated. Thanks people!

* It's I-751 not I-175

* The notice is essentially a receipt. It means exactly what it says..

* You will be contacted with a biometrics appointment

* They have not yet reviewed your application (other than the most cursory check that you filled in the right form and included the right fee).

* It's possible that they might request more evidence or call you for an interview. That could happen at any time between now and approval, which could take between 3 and 12 months.

Haha, yes, definitely the I-751, not the imaginary form I made up.

The NOA didn't say anything about my application having been or not having been reviewed. I was just confused because it stated it would be contacting me for biometrics… Thought they'd wait on biometrics until things were approved.

I'll wait to get my biometrics appointment so I can have a case number and check my application status.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

It's very normal to get a response almost immediately and have them tell you they will send you a biometrics appointment.

What you heard is wrong about the order of things. Biometrics is the first step after they receive. Then you wait. It could be as little as 3 months or as long as a year before you hear from them.
