Hi Hun,

We have a similar timeline. My petition was approved on September 25, then the embassy got it on 10/10/2014 and a case # was assigned Then on Oct. 30, it showed in transit to the Embassy and on 11/04, the status changed to ready, and I checked it again today and the date changed to 11/06. I have called and emailed them and they said that still no date was given...I'm so pissed off :( I hope I get an early December interview :(. When you called, which number did you call?

Good Morning belly21,

From experience, anytime the status date changes someone has worked on your case. First Ready maybe that the embassy received and second ready may mean file registered in their data base. You probably already have a date, especially if that status date changes again.

I strongly suggest calling, but here's what is confusing now with these changes happening at the Embassy and new satellite office, Can we continue to use the old number? Or do we only use the new telephone number provided? The old one was efficient and worth the $7.00, I read yesterday a VJ member's experience with calling the new number and was confused. But try both and keep insisting until you get your answers. See below:

New Contact Number

Starting on November 12, there will be a new service to provide information; you may call the following numbers for free with any questions 829-956-5144 (Dominican Republic) or 703-988-3410 (U.S.).

Old Contact Number

Persons in the United States must call 1-877-804-5402, and the call will be charged to their credit card (Visa or MasterCard). The charge when calling from the United States is approximately US$8.00 per call, regardless of the duration of the call. The Center is staffed with operators Monday through Friday (including most American and Dominican holidays) from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time.

You can also email:

http://santodomingovisas@state.gov

http://asktheconsul@usemb.gov.do

I've never emailed, so I don't know how reliable this method is, but it doesn't hurt to try...

Good Luck to you.

Hi Belly

I have a similar timeline too and still have no interview date. I have not tried calling the free # yet. I've already paid them $28 in trying to call over the last few weeks.

Maybe I'll try to call today and see what happens. :) Keep us posted!

The number isnt free you need credit on your phone.

I thought that was free and i called and lost all my minutes.

So i am sure if you call from usa you are going to pay the call to the phone company.

It isnt free really.

And the call center is useless they only are working with non immigrant visas, students, tourist, and work visas.

They dont tell nothing about k1 ot others visas.

best way to get and answeris the e-mail now.
