Beneficiary's birth certificate question...

Hi all!

To make a long story short, I was born in Argentina in '89, then in '91 we moved to Italy. My mother is Italian, so when we all came to Italy, we children were registered as Italians born abroad.

I don't have the original of my birth certificate, only a certified copy, because they keep the original in their civil registry office in Argentina. Will that copy suffice? Do I need to get a paper from here in Italy too, stating that I'm born abroad but I'm an Italian citizen? I'm sure I can go to the town hall of where we lived originally when we moved to Italy and request it... but if my passport and ID card where it says my nationality and citizenship are Italian suffice and I don't need to go hey, the LESS the merrier.

Small update, my mother (who had been the one to tell me that she didn't have the original birth certificate) was wrong. I have the original and a copy of the civil registry office page.

To prove that I'm an Italian citizen, do I still need to request the copy of the registration of my birth certificate in Italy? I have both my ID card and passport as evidence of my citizenship...
