Long time waiting

Hi

when i was young about 2 years old, I was born in 1981, I hold green card without expiration date. my dad was permanent resident. but i went back to my country and never come back to US.

Then my father became US citizen and applied for I130 for me in 2010. In 2012, they denied my case.

my father asked attorney to follow up the case and determine what we should do?

At same time, in 2011, I got married. my father informed me about my new case number that he submitted new application I130 in 2012.

right now, it has been 2 years and nothing happen???

what i should do? or what ?

What was the reason of refusal of the application that was filed in 2010?

As far as your present petition is concerned, you may have to wait for 8 to 9 years to receive green card since you fall under f3 category(married children of us citizens) in which people with pd 2003 are being processed nowadays. You can check the visa bulletin every month and wait till your priority date becomes current.

Actually i donot know the reason.

my father gave all documents to attorney. he asked him but he got same answer no news.

8 to 9 years so long waiting.

Also what are the benefits of attorney if he didnot accerlate my application?

Attorney cannot do anything to accelerate your application..he has no power to do so.

Priority date is the date when the i130 is filed..

You can hire an attorney when you case opens up after the waiting time..that's your wish..all he can do is help you prepare the required forms for the processing of the case..he cannot help you in any way to decrease your waiting time..

It is not possible to predict the exact waiting time..You can see the Visa Bulletin every month to know which dates are being processed..the movement varies from time to time depending upon the demand..
