Hi !

Can anyone tell me or give me a link for the current trends in the Accounting field. We'll be moving to the Atlanta GA area. And looking for jobs in Accounting. Have 12 years experience in Accounting abroad; Currently a Controller. Have experience with GAAP and SAP. No CPA. No US experience either. But currently working for a Fortune 500 American company. Can anyone tell me about the job market now (in general and around Atlanta. Thanks!

What comes up when you google "accounting Atlanta"?

Usually you can get a good idea of the salary ranges, who is hiring and what they're looking for from the job ads.

Might also be worth getting on LinkedIn, if you're not on there already, and joining a finance and accounting group for Atlanta, if one exists.

I'd also email the accounting recruitment agencies in Atlanta to see if your profile is a good fit for the kinds of jobs they work on. A quick google shows that Robert Half has an office in Atlanta, might be worth trying them first.

As a controller with 12 years' experience, you're on the more senior side, so your leads will most likely come from recruiters/headhunters and networking.
