do you have history of tb or lung disease? SLEC xray can show any tiniest scar on the lungs. But be positive. I was exposed to TB as one of my family member had active TB, when i had the medical exam I was clear (no sputum exam for me). I am now in America for 4 yrs and 6months.

My mom just had her medical exam last May 2014, she had history of TB 20yrs ago, of course scarring is present on her lungs. she had her 3-day sputum, after 60days it was clear then she finished her processing. Now she is here in the USA for 2months already. Sputum exam is not bad if you know you don't have active TB. But it will slow down your process for 2months.

Good luck. I hope everything will go smoothly for you.. Nothing is impossible with prayers

There is nothing you can do to increase the chances of success at the med. So just do it and stop worrying about something you cannot control.

There is a lot, however, you can do to decrease your chances of success. One of them is to worry about something you cannot control. So please do not become your own worst enemy. Get good rest the night before the exam, show up and do what you are told. That is your best shot at success.

It's easy to say don't worry too much but I understand it doesn't help you. Just keep yourself healthy and hope for the best. I think you will forget about your worries once you see how many people line up for the medical. You will instead focus on just wanting to get it done so you can come home :P Its VERY tiring.

Same feeling. I will have my medical on the 17th and I am so worried and nervous about it. I have read lots of post here that they undergo with the sputum test even they don't have a history of TB.

I am worried because I had asthma when I was young. I just hope that it will not cause any problem on my Xray.

I hope I will be fine & pass the med exam. I don't want my fiancé to be disappointed and wait for another two long months...
