EAD/Work Permit Error

Hello Everyone! I just have a question. My husband's name is in Arabic but the English Translation of his name can start with either an "I" or an "E" Most of his documents have it as spelled with an "I"; however, he does have some bills in his name that spell it with an "E"..so his name can be Islem or Eslem..now with that said..we just got an RFE asking for clarification of his name on the I-485 even though we put on the application that his name is spelled both ways. We were happy when he finally got his work permit and took it to the social security office and got his SSN..spelled with an "E" he had no problems getting the SSN and it's in his hands as I type. Now he's afraid he won't be able to use it and he has a job interview Tuesday!! Will he still be able to use it?! If they want to go by what is on his passport, he'll have to change it to "Islem". We were wondering if he'd still be able to use his work permit (immigration is aware that he goes by both spellings) and then give his potential employer the amended one when he gets it or will he now have to wait? Thanks for any advice and help!

As far as I know, whatever is on his EAD will match whatever is on the SAVE system, which is used by employers to verify that a potential employee has authorisation to work.

To avoid future confusion, if I were him, I would pick a spelling and use that for all his US ID and documents from now on.

thank you!! Yes, I agree. We believe it would be better for him to go by what's on his passport, etc.
