Hello all,

As you may know from my previous posts, My parents are here in the US on Immigrant Visa as the parent of a US citizen. Unforunately, my mom didnt receive her greencard in the mail within the 60 days time frame. I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone here. What did you do for following up (Other than going to local USCIS office?)? What if they've lost the package she gave them at the airport? please help with any info you might have.

Thanks

Only sure way to find out what has happened is to make an infopass appointment at your local office.... they will be able to check if it has been issued or not...

Thanks for your reply. My problem is that taking my mom to USCIS is exteremly difficult since she can't move, and i am not sure if they will let me know the status of her case. I am both the petitioner and my parents 'Agent of Choice". Do you think if I go there by myself, they will answer my questions?

I agree, Info Pass is the only way to go. A friend of mine never received his. He called the 800 number for almost a year and was told it wasn't issued yet. He did have a stamp in his passport, so could work. At the 10 month mark, he scheduled an info pass appointment and was told it was mail out about a month after he arrived and that it was not returned to them as undeliverable. He lived in a condo with locked mailboxes, but never received it. He then had to apply for a lost GC (including paying another fee, new biometrics) and had to wait almost another 5 months for his GC. He did request a new stamp in his passport that allowed him to continue to work until he finally got his GC. By the time he got his Conditional GC, he was only 6 months away from applying to have his conditions removed.

Patience is required for this process.

Do you know if they will tell me(the petitioner and the agent of choice of my parent) anything about the case? Moving my mom considering her condition, is really hard. Thanks

I really don't know. But if you do go, and they have lost any part of her package, she would need to present. They would need a new passport photo and have her fingerprints taken, again.

Patience is required for this process.
