I called nvc on 10/17 they said they received my file and gave me my case number. Went to track it on the ceas website and said "at nvc"

On 10/20 I checked in the morning and it said "in transit"

On 10/21 it said "ready"

Can this be right? So quick? This is for a k1 visa.

Yes K1 visa does not send documents to the NVC but rather bring them to the interview.

I don't follow what you mean.

Regular Immigrant Visa Application submits documents to the NVC, thus takes longer there, while K visas does not send document to the NVC, so it doesn't stay long at the NVC. As soon as NVC receives the case, they immediately forward the case to the consulate/embassy where the applicant will have their Interview, The documents and forms required for K visa applicants will have to be brought at the Interview, Now that your case is "Ready", you are able to schedule your Interview with the consulate/embassy.

Oh I see now! So they didn't ship anything to them. They just informed the consulate. That makes sense now. I printed out our original petition documents that we sent to the USCIS, we should bring that as well?

You do not need the I129F at the interview.
