NVC received our case 10/10 and assigned case number on 14/10. CEAC status says still at NVC. I called NVC tonight to try and get some update on status - was told that it is in administrative processing and we will be notified of any progress.

My question is - does NVC actually do anything with the case other than assign it the case number? Can anyone advise how quickly they are likely to ship it to consulate? Just hoping everything keeps moving along quickly here!

Hello, we were in AP at NVC on a K1 as well, some time back. Times then were about 2 months, but they are down to a few weeks lately, give or take. Here is a link to the thread with some info you might find helpful. There was a Part 1 to that thread, but as it was old, and large, they shut it down.

They aren't that good at letting you know when it goes forward either. We never did get notification, we only found out because we called them.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
